About Omotesenke Domonkai Northern California:
"In June 1959, seven Teachers reached out to all Omotesenke Tea practitioners in the Bay Area to join them for a cup of tea and to work together to further their understanding of the Way of Tea. And for the past 50 years, the Omotesenke Domonkai Northern California has offered, not only to the Japanese American Community, but invited and offered to all, a non-verbal look into the very “sprit” of Japanese culture. In 1971, we were recognized as Omotesenke Domonkai Northern California Region under the auspices of the Head Office of Domonkai in Kyoto. We will celebrate our 50th Anniversary of our inauguration in June 2020, where we will be honoring the past and celebrating the present and a promise for an auspicious future."
