North Branch Meeting RoomCome learn about situational awareness and bystander intervention in a safe, inclusive setting.
Join us for an informational and hands-on self-defense and bystander awareness workshop with expert Caren Camblin! During this session of Literally How, we’ll go over practical ways to keep yourself physically and emotionally safe, situational awareness tips, and how and when to step in as a bystander.
This session is built for new adults, young adults, teens, and tweens; all who wish to participate are welcome. Please register ahead so we're prepared to welcome every participant.
Caren Camblin is the founder of NIJI DOJO, a body positive, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, trauma informed martial arts school in Santa Cruz, CA. She holds a 4th degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has been teaching self defense for over 20 years. Outside of martial arts, she is a Senior Lecturer at UCSC and a trainer in Nonviolent Communication. In her free time you can find her knitting, reading fiction, and hanging with her magical cats.
