Celebrating the music of Miles Davis on the 100th anniversary of his birth
Join us for another On the Record session—this month we're listening to the work of Miles Davis on the 100th anniversary of his birth.
From his early years as a sideman with legends like Charlie Parker to his final years as reigning elder himself, Miles Davis looms large over the world of jazz.
In his 30+ year career, he traversed a range of styles, from the swinging, heavy bebop of his early years to the jazz-funk-pop fusion of his later work, exerting a massive influence on various genres and artists.
We'll play selections from Miles' entire career, mostly on vinyl, but also including some exclusive mixes/edits from his fusion era.
