Digital scanning of your resume (ATS) is a critical juncture on your resume’s journey. Submittal to ATS processing of online resumes has become almost universal in the current recruiting arena. Let’s discuss what happens to your resume during scanning. How can you prepare your resume to fly through the filters, and what do you need to know to prevent your resume from being rejected by an ATS system? We will cover what to do and what to avoid, as well as trends among software firms that develop ATS systems for use by employers and recruiters. In addition, we will consider software that allows job applicants to submit their resume + job posting and see their resume score according to its degree of matching to the job posting requirement (principally key words). Beyond ATS scanning we will show resumes that surpass meeting ATS processing requirements that are enhanced to impress internal recruiters and hiring managers. Lots to discuss.
