Explore the inner workings of music and why it moves us
Have you ever wondered about why we respond to and love the music we do? Are you curious to delve further into the structure and context of your favorite songs or pieces? Do you want to learn from others and share your knowledge and passion for music?
Join recording and performing violinist, vocalist and teacher, Lila Sklar to expand your musical horizons. Using mindfulness and close listening, discussion and sharing, analysis and exploration, Lila will guide attendees through a deep dive into selected pieces of music to broaden their understanding and appreciation of the rich world of sound.
The program will include opportunities to flex your musical muscle by learning elements and sections of the music being discussed, adapted and targeted for a broad range of abilities. If you play an instrument, feel free to bring it along for this interactive portion of the program, but all with open ears are welcome!
The first two meetings will take place Saturday, February 28th and Saturday, March 21st
