Resumes: Show Your Uniqueness and Advantages to Meet the Hiring Manager’s Needs
You’ve solved problems. You’ve led change. You are known for making a positive impact. The notion, though, that the purpose of your resume is to get interviews is only partially valid and is restrictive. Of course, you need to pack your resume with credibility points and qualifications to pass the applicant tracking systems (ATS), otherwise known as digital scanning. But then you need to extend your claim on a desired position by connecting to the priority interests of the hiring manager and team. Done effectively, you can predispose the hiring manager to ask questions you want to answer and in similar ways you can set up a positive advantage compared to your rival candidates. Join us in discussing possibilities including modifying your resume layout, adding sections to your resume, and using creative ways to drive home the message that you will make a difference. We will show examples of empowered resumes that send your message to reviewers and resonate with hiring managers. We will modify our discussion to meet the interests of attendees. Please ask questions and share job searching tips.
