'Best of' tips to apply before and after the interview

An interactive event for job seekers

First, the best catapult for success might start with the resume–when you plant content that compels the interviewer to ask for more information. The seeds you plant increase your clout and give you an opening to talk about your message. We will focus on a “cheat sheet” of ideas from thoughtful experts who have a knack for capturing the mystique of job searching. One is Ruth Okamoto who in her 8 minute Ted Talk shares how to prompt interviews to lean in and ask to hear more from you. Another expert is Juli DuBari who shares her priorities in focusing interview conversations. She looks beyond the resume to learn about processes the applicant uses and qualities of thought. Other issues we will discuss are questions to ask in the interview, following up with a thank you note, and networking approaches that keep doors open. Plan to add your own ideas and ask questions as we work through issues. As usual, we will adjust our topic to the interests of attendees.
