Have you prepared your resumes from an autobiographical perspective? This works as a first draft . A refined “all-about-me” second draft – loaded with key words – can pass through the digital scanning filters and attract recruiters. The most effective resumes, though, are written to also engage the human resource and hiring decision makers by flipping the applicant’s viewpoint to meeting job needs, matching requirements, and aligning with decision makers’ hiring criteria. (Emphasis: What can you do for me?) A flipped resume will reflect solution-directed, problem solving achievements. It will stand out! In addition, we will discuss forecasts of skills in demand by 2030. Decreasing in prominence are AI-impacted areas such as math, data, computers, language, and business processes. Skills in highest demand will include critical thinking, creativity, interpersonal interaction skills, presentation presence, influence, decision making and good judgment. We will demonstrate flipped resumes and bullet point constructions that include mastery of skills rising in demand. Plan to add your own ideas and ask questions as we work through issues. As usual, we will adjust our topic to the interests of attendees.
