Steph Lau and the East Bay Vivarium!
Local author, Steph Lau, will read her new book Medusa's Pet Rock - a hilarious picture book that puts a new spin on the mythological character Medusa.
After, the East Bay Vivarium will show local and exotic snakes, and go over proper snake handling.
Plus a big boa constrictor that all the kids can hold.
And a 7 foot “gargoyle” which the kids can pet!

About Steph Lau
Steph Lau is an Asian-American author-illustrator and former pastry chef from sunny California. She lives in a hilly house by the bay, with two beloved monsters, a ravenous pet rabbit, and a freezer stuffed with half-eaten ice cream.
Steph works primarily in picture books and graphic novels — usually with a splash of mischief.
Her author-illustrator picture book debut, The Abominable Snow Dancer (Penguin Workshop), launched in 2025.
