Make a suncatcher out of everyday items with artist and educator Lynne-Rachel Altman. All ages and skill levels are welcome. We will be tracing images on stiff plastic and adding color. Come with your own images to trace or select from templates Lynn-Rachel will provide. Let your inner artist shine.
Lynne-Rachel Altman, is best known for her sculpture, architectural and public art. She holds an MFA in Sculpture and Glass (with Distinction) from CCA (C), helped create (and taught at) the kiln casting department at Public Glass (San Francisco) and the Crucible (Oakland), and has been lead artist on a number of residential, community, and public art projects including the "Make Art" brick and cement inserts on Addison Street, The "Edible Food Mural" and John Muir Elementary, and the popular "Fairy Music Farm" tunnel at Children's Fairyland. Lynne-Rachel has exhibited her fine art at venues such as the Tacoma Museum of Art, the Richmond Art Center, and the Museum of Craft and Design. Altman was a Creative Glass Center of America fellow, artist in residence at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, and an artist in residence (and TA) at Pilchuck Glass School. Altman is a member of the 2727 California Street Gallery Co-op. In addition to creating her one-of-a-kind works of art and orchestrating social practice events, she enjoys sharing her love of art with her community.
