Explore the hidden abundance growing in our neighborhoods—loquats overhanging sidewalks, untended plums, elderberries, citrus, and more! In this talk and tasting, forager & fermenter Daniel Goldberg, founder of Feral Ecology, shares how to identify, harvest, and preserve these overlooked fruits using techniques like fermentation, pickling, and drying.
Together, we will explore how foraging can shift our relationship to food, community, and the ecosystems we live within. Is it possible for our everyday landscapes to be a source of nourishment, connection, and possibility?
Feral Ecology makes natural wines & ciders from feral fruit, and serves as a community resource for education on foraging and fermentation! They aim to build a direct relationship with the land, celebrate diverse traditions, and cultivate wholeness for a more resilient future.
