Learn Effective Resume Building Skills with Marilyn Tullius
You may be considering a career pivot, or planning to at least broaden your search beyond jobs you have held in the past. Many job seekers rely on transferable skills to carry them to their next opportunity, and soon face many other factors including technology shifts, restructuring of companies, trends toward downsizing of employees, and more. The net puzzle many job seekers contend with is a jumble of job titles, enigmas around organizational structure, and uneven adoption rates of process improvements, as well as a confusion of employer approaches in adapting to economic and market changes. We will launch our discussion beginning with skills of the most in-demand jobs in 2025 and core capabilities projected to be in high demand by 2030. From this vantage point we will transform vague categories into specific functions and move deeper into searchable job titles. Along our route we will consider research into industries and career levels (early-mid-advanced). Using case examples we will follow the straightest, least bumpy routes, and identify tools to find opportunities, which (hooray!) lead to action plans for effective job searching. We will modify our discussion to meet the interests of attendees and encourage all participants to ask questions and share job searching tips with others.
