Join us for an afternoon of mahjong at the Berkeley Public Library! Whether you're brand new to the game or a seasoned player looking to get in a few rounds, everyone is welcome.
We'll have 2 mahjong coaches onsite to assist 2-4 tables throughout the event to teach beginners, answer questions, and help players build confidence while playing, & up to 4 tables available for more experienced open play. Experienced players are invited to join open play, meet fellow mahjong enthusiasts, and enjoy a relaxing afternoon of community and connection.
Come learn, play, and discover why mahjong has brought generations together around the table.

About: 13 Orphans is an intimate, Asian-American owned Mahjong den and speakeasy built on community, culture, and connection. We bring people together over the shuffling of tiles and thoughtfully crafted cocktails & mocktails inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine elements and tea culture.
