Join us for an afternoon with Red Lightning Woman Power.
About Red Lightning Woman Power:
Red Lightning Woman Power (RLWP) is a Bay Area–based Indigenous women’s singing collective grounded in ancestral songs, storytelling, and living tradition. Founded in 2018 in the San Francisco–Oakland region, the group carries songs that have traveled through generations—songs of remembrance, resilience, and return. Through the shared act of singing, women gather to reconnect with their voices, their creativity, and one another.
Rooted in Indigenous ways of knowing, RLWP offers song as medicine—calling to the water, the earth, women, and all living beings. Each gathering is a sacred space of belonging, where sound becomes prayer and art becomes a pathway back to balance. Through voice and presence, Red Lightning Woman Power shares songs of hope, love, and renewal, offering healing not only to those who sing, but to all who listen.
This program is made possible by the Friends of the Berkeley Public Library.
