Visit the Central Library to view “Transmissions Quilts: A Multimedia Exhibit of Objects, Stories, and Trans Care,” curated by Berkeley-based artist and educator Cordy Joan, from Monday, June 2nd to Saturday, June 28th. The exhibit takes place across the Central Library, with art displayed on the 1st, 2nd, and 5th floors.
On Saturday, June 21st, join artist Cordy Joan at the Central Library for a curator tour of "Transmissions Quilts" followed by a quilting bee. The curator tour will begin at 12pm from the 1st floor lobby and travel via the stairs and/or elevator throughout the building. Joan will discuss the work on display, the nature and process of the Transmissions Quilt Project, and answer questions. The tour will last roughly 30 minutes, ending around 12:30pm. Then, from 1-4pm, after a brief break for setup, Joan will lead a quilting bee on the 5th floor. Participants will learn quilting basics in this collaborative fiber arts project for all ages and abilities. Drop in anytime or stay for the whole duration!
